Management Associate Programme

The GIAD attachment offers Management Associates (MAs) the opportunity to gain exposure to different business units within Sunway Group, apart from their ’home’ business units (BUs). During the initial three months of joining Sunway, MAs will report to the GIAD team and be assigned audit projects for businesses they are not attached to. These projects involve auditing the internal processes and controls of the business operations, which may involve them travelling to or being based at various business locations and sites.

During the two-year programme, MAs will have a career development plan that clearly outlines the specific areas of work and development identified for their accelerated growth while they are attached to the business. MAs can expect to be involved in projects and assignments that are directly relevant to their work area, enabling them to learn and gain a broader understanding and perspective of their employer BU operations and overall business direction. This provides MAs with opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills within their BUs.

Upon completing their GIAD attachment, MAs will report into and begin their development journey with their respective BUs, deepening their expertise in their respective business verticals while developing a broad business understanding and appreciation through adjacent exposures. After the two-year programme, MAs will continue their career progression and growth within the same BU, becoming subject matter experts in their respective functions and further excelling in their chosen paths.

MAs will participate in a series of learning programmes designed to promote both personal and professional growth. These programmes prioritise self-reflection, coaching, mentoring, and leadership development, creating an environment that encourages continuous learning. The goal is to develop well-rounded leaders who have a thorough understanding of their roles and responsibilities, while also considering their personal and leadership impact on their teams and the organisation.

In addition to the daily responsibilities within their respective BUs, MAs will have the chance to participate in a range of projects that involve collaborating with leaders from different BUs. MAs work as a cohesive team under the guidance of industry leaders, contributing fresh and innovative ideas for business projects. These ideas are then presented to the management team with the goal of obtaining approval for practical implementation. While MAs will not be rotating across BUs in the programme, these special projects provide them the opportunities to engage with cross-functional teams, broaden their perspectives, and make a meaningful impact within the organisation.
